3 Ways to Remind Yourself That it is Important to be Patient
It is so difficult for me and many others to be patient......
Sometimes I cringe at how long I have to wait in line at Starbucks or how long it takes for a hiring manager to call me back to tell me whether or not I have been hired for a job. I cringe when I am in traffic (I live in Atlanta and it takes me 1 hour to go 15 miles down the freeway). Yikes! I used to go to a church where the pastor would always go 30 minutes over the 2 hour mark. No! When I am sitting in a meeting that is longer than 30 minutes or on a conference call that is longer than 1 hour, I CRINGE. Just, why?
Some other things that people are impatient about are waiting for a boyfriend or girlfriend, waiting to get proposed to, waiting to get pregnant, waiting to get promoted, waiting to buy a house, waiting at the car wash, and waiting on the 10 piece chicken wings with fries. I get it.
Life feels slow at times but the question we have to ask ourselves sometimes is, "Self, why are you in such a hurry?"
You have your entire life ahead of you and if it is never meant for you to do something in this life time, you will not do it so don't force it and don't turn yourself into a nervous wreck trying to force it.
When you start to practice patience intentionally remember these 3 things:
1. What is meant for you will not pass you by.
2. What is meant for you will come to you when it is intended for you to have it.
3. When you do not get what you want right now, you may have avoided getting something that you did not need.
